Pig Trail Clean Up Day

By early April the Pig Trail Scenic Byway was looking messy and neglected. Feed sacks, plastic bags, bottles, and cans lined the edge of one of the areas prime tourist destinations.  Now thanks to Cass Job Corps the Pig Trail is clean and ready for spring. Job corp students broke into several different groups with each group cleaning one mile of highway. Turner Bend hid two $5.00 gift certificates along each mile to reward the corpsmen.  The certificates were redeemed for merchandise at Turner Bend.  The Arkansas Highway Department hauled off the bagged litter to complete the cleanup.  Fight Dirty!

These pictures of the river are at 16 ft.  The river was still creeping up at this point.

We have recently purchased over 100 acres bordering Hwy 23 and the Mulberry River just south of Turner Bend. The property has a lovely riverside cabin that we have refurbished and have available for rent this spring.  In order to reach the cabin you might need an SUV to cross a small creek should there be heavy rain. We plan to improve the creek crossing this summer. We are calling the new place "Round the Bend."
